When the lamp of knowledge is lit with the wick of sensitivity, the light of consciousness spreads far and wide when Rotary Club Lakhimpur Kheri organized a health awareness camp for girls in Sanatan Dharma Saraswati Balika Vidya Mandir Inter College. On this occasion, renowned gynecologist Dr. Shweta Awasthi presented the irregularities in menstruation, their causes and prevention measures in simple and easy words and provided informative guidance to the girls. She not only resolved the seriousness of the subject, but also calmed the doubts of the students by answering their queries in a friendly manner. Dr. Awasthi also discussed in detail the causes of cervical cancer and the vaccines used to prevent it, so that the girl students can become alert and aware towards women’s health. At the end of the program, a feeling of intimacy prevailed in the school premises, when the president of the organization, Preeti Singh, while expressing her gratitude to the doctor and all the people present, said that – “Health is the root of self-confidence, and awareness is its first step.” This inspiring event sowed the seeds of self-protection and health awareness in the minds of little girls.
