The Military and Paramilitary Welfare Department has issued orders to give cash awards to the Agniveers who have won the Gallantry Award and grants to the dependents of those who died in the war. These orders include that the Param Vir Chakra winner will get Rs 2 crore, the Maha Vir Chakra winner will get Rs 1 crore and the Vir Chakra winner will get Rs 50 lakh. Similarly, the medal winners of the Army, Navy and Air Force will be given Rs 21 lakh and the Mention in Dispatch (Gallery) medal winner will get Rs 10 lakh. In the category of peacetime gallantry awards, Rs 1 crore will be given for Ashok Chakra, Rs 51 lakh for Kirti Chakra, Rs 31 lakh for Shaurya Chakra. Army, Navy and Air Force medal winners will be given Rs 10 lakh and Rs 7.5 lakh for Mention in Dispatch (Gallery) award. In the case of peacetime distinguished/devotion to duty award winners, Army, Navy, Air Force medal winners and National Coast Guard Medal winners will get Rs 1.75 lakh and Rs 1.50 lakh cash award for Coast Guard Medal.
