Health department launched a campaign to protect children from malnutrition, night blindness and infection Children between 9 months and 5 years will be given vitamin A supplements CMO Dr. Santosh Gupta and CMS Dr. Jyoti Mehrotra inaugurated the program from the District Women’s Hospital Lakhimpur Kheri. Under the Child Health Nutrition Month, Vitamin-A supplements were administered by CMO Dr. Santosh Gupta and CMS Dr. Jyoti Mehrotra at the District Women’s Hospital on Wednesday. The program was inaugurated by cutting the ribbon. CMO Dr. Santosh Gupta said that Vitamin A Sampoorna Abhiyan is being run to administer vitamin A supplements to children between the ages of 9 months and 5 years. The aim of this campaign is to increase the ability to fight malnutrition, night blindness and infection in children. He also said that after Anganwadi centers, primary health centers, community health centers, ASHA workers will go door-to-door to give vitamin-A supplements to children. CMS Dr. Jyoti Mehrotra has appealed to all the parents to ensure that their children get vitamin-A supplements and contact their nearest health center or Anganwadi center. This will secure the future of the children and they will be able to avoid many diseases. This supplement is given free of cost to the children and it is completely safe. District Immunization Officer Dr. Ravi Mohan Gupta said that this campaign will be run from 9 July to 9 August, all preparations for this have already been completed. During this, WHO SMO Dr. Vikas Singh, District Coordinator Chai Mukesh Chauhan along with officials of District Women’s Hospital and DIO office were present.
