Kanpur Nagar In view of the state-wide decline in groundwater level and the seriousness of the crisis arising on it, the government has given instructions to celebrate โGroundwater Weekโ (16 to 22 July, 2025) with the aim of increasing public awareness towards its conservation, management, judicious use and regulated exploitation. In compliance with the said instructions, necessary guidelines have been issued by the Commissioner Kanpur Division and District Magistrate, Kanpur Nagar for organizing the related programs. In this sequence, an awareness program for rainwater harvesting and judicious use of groundwater was organized among the girl students by the Groundwater Department at Kaushalya Devi Girls Inter College, Kidwai Nagar, Kanpur today. Slogan, poster and essay competitions were organized under the program. Apart from this, a rally was taken out by the girl students on water conservation and rainwater harvesting, in which methods of rainwater harvesting were effectively demonstrated through banners and pamphlets. At the end of the program, the girl students were also made to take a pledge to conserve water. On this occasion, Hydrologist Archana Singh, Raj Kamal Lodhi, Junior Engineer Gopal Kumar Gupta and other employees of Ground Water Department, Block-Kanpur were present.
