According to the evaluation of various works done during the year 2018 to 2023, Krantiguru Shyamji Krishnavarma Kutch University has been recognized by NEC with C-grade. Krantiguru Shyamji Krishnavarma Kutch University was established in 2004. In 2004, Kutch University received UGC 2(F) recognition, after which in 2018 the university received UGC 12(B) recognition. After the 12(B) recognition, Kutch University started the process for NEC recognition. Due to the Corona epidemic and other circumstances, the university could not participate in NEC recognition from 2018 to 2023. In the year 2024, Dr. Mohan Patel, as soon as he was appointed as the Chancellor of Kutch University, started the process for NEC accreditation. Under the guidance of the University’s Registrar Dr. Anil Gor and IQAC Coordinator Dr. Kashmira Mehta, the entire teaching and non-teaching family of Kutch University presented various works from 2018 to 2023 as per the NEC criteria during a year of hard work. The NEC team, after visiting Kutch University in person and online from June 3 to 5, gave NEC accreditation to the university with a C-grade. Various works done by the university are evaluated for NEC accreditation, which includes important issues such as curriculum, teaching and learning processes, research innovation, university infrastructure and learning resources, student support and progress, governance, leadership and management, and institutional values and best practices. For the excellent work of participating in the NEC process by the Registrar Dr. Anil Gor, the Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohan Patel and congratulated Dr. Kashmira Mehta, Head of IQAC. He thanked all the academic and non-academic staff and current and former students of the university. Uni. is only 0.09 CGPA away from getting B grade. – All these factors led to C grade: Looking at the reasons for the C-grade received by the university, it has been found that many factors like Corona pandemic, other natural disasters, shortage of permanent professors and staff, limited research work done, migration of students out of Kutch and limited research and development grants to the university have been found to be the reasons. – Getting NEC recognition is important: Vice Chancellor: Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohanbhai Patel expressed his happiness saying that it is important for the university to get NEC recognition first. The work done by the university was presented properly during the NEC evaluation, but due to some limitations, the university has received C grade. Especially in the research sector, the grading is a little lower than expected due to not doing enough work. The Vice Chancellor held a meeting with all the academic staff and discussed the NEC results. Dr. Patel added that various measures will be taken by the university to get good grades in the future. The weak aspects of the university that have been shown by NEC in their report will be improved by making better efforts. – This will be the benefit of getting NEC recognition: The important benefit of Kutch University getting NEC recognition is that the students’ marksheet will be written as accredited, which will be useful for their career. Also, with the increase in the grant received from the central level, the benefit of any new scheme implemented will be available, so Kutch University will also be able to register its share in the national ranking.
