The Mahagathbandhan had announced a state-wide Chakka Jam against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign being run by the Election Commission in Bihar. All the constituent parties of the Mahagathbandhan, including the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, Left parties, VIP Party and Jan Adhikar Party (Pappu Yadav), took to the roads. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will also reach Patna today and will march from Income Tax Golambar to the election office with Tejashwi Yadav. However, the impact of these protests has started being seen in Bihar since morning. On National Highway 30 passing through Patna’s Maner assembly constituency, Mahagathbandhan workers burnt tyres in support of the Bihar Bandh and blocked the road, blocking vehicles. During this, they raised slogans against the Election Commission and the Government of India. During the Chakka Jam, RJD workers blocked the Gandhi Setu bridge. This bridge is considered important for reaching cities like Hajipur, Darbhanga and Purnia from Patna. On the other hand, protesters at the Court station in Jehanabad stopped the train running between Patna and Gaya in support of the Bihar Bandh.
