Major accident on Rudraprayag-Badrinath highway, bus falls into Alaknanda river, many feared dead

A major accident has taken place on the Rudraprayag-Badrinath highway in Uttarakhand. Here, a bus packed with passengers fell into the Alaknanda river in the Dholtir area. It is being feared that many people died in this accident. The rescue team left as soon as the information about the incident was received. It is worth mentioning that yesterday, a dam burst in several districts of Uttarakhand’s neighboring state of Himachal Pradesh, due to which several rivers were in flood condition. According to information, Police Headquarters Spokesperson Nilesh Anand Bharne said that a bus fell into the Alaknanda river after it fell into the valley of the uncontrollable river in the Dholtir area of Rudraprayag district. According to information, a total of 18 passengers were on board the bus. The death of one of them has yet to be confirmed. As soon as the incident was reported, rescue teams from ADRF, police force and local administration rushed to the spot and rescued some of the injured. They have been shifted to the hospital for treatment. Many people are still missing and a rescue operation is underway to trace them.
