Muslim population grew at the fastest rate in the world, Hindus and Christians also lagged behind: Pew Research

Muslim Population: A recent report by the Pew Research Center has made an important revelation about the world’s population. According to the report, Islam has become the world’s second largest religion as well as the fastest growing religion. Between 2010 and 2020, the Muslim population saw a 21% increase, from 1.7 billion to 2 billion. Muslim population growth rate double that of the global population The report shows that the pace of Muslim population growth has been twice as fast as the global average population growth rate (10%). While the population of other religions has increased by an average of 9.7%, Muslims constitute 26% of the total world population. This means that one in every four people in the world is a Muslim. Minor decline in Hindu population: On the other hand, there has been a minor decline in the Hindu population. In 2010, Hindus made up 15% of the global population, but in 2020 this figure dropped to 14.9%.
