With the monsoon starting with a bang in Gujarat, the average water level in 206 reservoirs has increased to 46.21 percent. Currently, 13 reservoirs in the state are 100 percent full, while a total of 18 reservoirs are on high alert. The average water level in Gujarat’s reservoirs on June 28, 2024, was only 38.24 percent. On the other hand, the rains in Ahmedabad have broken a 10-year record. Water level increases in Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam The water inflow in Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam has also increased. Information has been received that 54032 cusecs of water has been received from upstream. Due to continuous rains in Madhya Pradesh, the water level in Narmada Dam has increased. Currently, the level of Narmada Dam is 118.08 meters. Due to the water inflow, 4 power houses of CHPH 1 and RBPH were started. The corporation earned crores of rupees from the commissioning of the power house. 12200 cusecs of water is being released into the main canal of Narmada. The maximum level of Narmada Dam is 138.68 meters. These reservoirs of Gujarat have been filled to 100 percent According to the information received, the reservoirs of Gujarat which have been filled to 100 percent include Dhatarwadi-Surjawadi in Amreli, Rojki-Bogad in Bhavnagar, Goma-Bhimad in Botad, Kali-2 in Dahod, Vagodia in Jamnagar, Kalaghogha in Kutch, Vansal-Leem Bhogavo 1-Subri in Surendranagar, Doswada in Tapi. As per the current situation, 31 reservoirs are filled between 70 percent and 100 percent, 35 reservoirs between 50 percent and 70 percent, 59 reservoirs between 25 percent and 50 percent, while 68 reservoirs are less than 25 percent full.
