Overhead tank demolished in Ranipara area near Mandal Chabutara Chowk

There are two overhead water tanks in Ranipara area near Chabutara Chowk in Mandal, one of which was in a residential area and there were shops around. This tank was 25 to 30 years old. The cement crust was peeling off from the top of the tank. There was a residential area around it, children were playing, shopkeepers were working and the surrounding residents were also moving around. Due to this, the residents complained to the Gram Panchayat about the dilapidated overhead tank. Following this, the Gram Panchayat evacuated the surrounding residential area for a while and demolished this tank with the help of a JCB machine. The overhead tank was removed by the craftsmen on their own initiative and the surrounding residents felt relieved.
