Benefits of e-passport โข Traveling abroad will be easier with the help of e-passport. This will reduce the waiting time for people at the airport and make it easier for them to travel from one country to another. โข Passport holder data will be kept safe in the chip installed in the e-passport, so that no one will be able to tamper with the data even if they want to. โข Personal and biometric information of the passport holder will also be stored securely in the chip. โข The e-passport complies with the rules of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). In such a situation, this passport will be valid all over the world. Police verification also became easy After applying for a passport, people have to go through the police verification process. In such a situation, people living in remote areas take months to get a passport. For this, the Ministry of External Affairs has launched the mPassport Police app. With the help of this app, police verification can be completed in just 5-7 days. How to apply for an e-passport? โขVisit the government website passportindia.gov.in. If you are visiting this website for the first time, first register by entering your name, date of birth and phone number. Then log in to the portal. โขNow click on the e-passport option and fill in all your personal details including travel history. โขSelect the option of Local Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) to make an appointment. โขComplete the payment process using UPI, Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking to pay the passport fee. โขNow book the appointment date and time as per your convenience. โขGo to PSK or POPSK as per the selected slot. During this time, do not forget to keep all the necessary documents with you.
