The Valsad District Congress Committee staged a massive protest at the Bagwada Toll Plaza on Tuesday as the highway became dilapidated. Activists, including women, joined the protest with banners such as “If there is no road, then no toll”, “Drive out BJP, drive out corruption”, and “Prevent accidents due to potholes”. Activists, including leaders, sat on the road. With the National Highway 48 passing through Valsad district becoming dilapidated and large potholes appearing everywhere, there has been a lot of anger against the administration that is taking a toll on the middle-aged people of Valsad. Today, Tuesday, the Valsad District Congress Committee staged a protest at the Bagwada Toll Plaza with the slogan “If there is no road, then no vote”. The newly elected district president Kishan Patel, former district president Dinesh Patel, Vapi city president Nimesh Vashi, leaders and activists raised slogans and expressed their anger against the administration. Activists, including women, joined the protest with banners reading ‘No road, no toll, BJP, corruption, stop accidents due to potholes’. The activists, including the leaders, sat on the road. Due to which traffic problems arose on the highway. Traffic eased after the police intervened. The leaders said that innocent people are becoming victims due to potholes on the highway, so the system should take serious action. District Congress President Kishan Patel said that a family of a biker from Valsad died due to a pothole in Pardi recently, which has caused a disaster. The protest was held to wake up the system that is taking innocent victims and causing accidents as the highway and many roads in the district are in a state of disrepair. It is noteworthy that the Taxi Association and Vapi Transport Association recently protested at the Bagwada Toll Plaza and submitted a petition demanding immediate action regarding the potholes and dilapidated condition of the highway.
