Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the people in Bhubaneswar, Odisha today (June 20), has made a statement that he had rejected the invitation of US President Donald Trump because he had to come to the land of Lord Jagannath. Let us tell you that due to the Israel-Iran conflict in West Asia, Trump had to return to Washington from the G7 summit organized in Canada. That is why this meeting could not take place. Prime Minister Modi, while addressing the people in Janata Maidan, said, ‘Two days ago I was in Canada for the G7 summit and US President Trump called me. He said, you have come to Canada, so go via Washington. Let’s have dinner together and talk. He invited me with great insistence. I told the US President, thank you for the invitation. I very much need to go to the land of Mahaprabhu. So I humbly rejected his invitation and your love and devotion to Mahaprabhu brought me to this land.’ Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 105 projects worth Rs 18,600 crore in Odisha. During this, the completion of one year of the BJP government was also celebrated. Prime Minister Modi said, ‘Odisha is not just a state, but a shining star of India’s heritage. Over the years, Odisha has enriched India’s culture and heritage. With the mantra of development and heritage, Odisha’s role has increased even more.’
