Kanpur, Hisar Haryana: Dalit Shoshan Mukti Manch Kanpur and Bhartiya Valmiki Dharma Samaj (Bhavadhas Bhim) submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate Kanpur Nagar in protest against the brutal killing of Dalit youth Ganesh Valmiki by the police. District Magistrate of Kanpur City Jitendra Pratap Singh also expressed grief over the incident and condemned it. Co-convener Chaman Khanna said that on 07-07-2025, Ganesh Valmiki son of Vikram, aged about 16 years, was celebrating his birthday in Hisar Police Station HTM Millgate, District Hisar (Haryana). Ganesh was dancing with his friend by playing sound at his door when some police personnel who were drunk abused him and asked him to stop the sound. When Ganesh protested against the abuse, they started beating Ganesh with sticks. When the family members tried to intervene, they also beat them. Ganesh climbed up to the roof and hid, where the drunk police personnel beat him up and threw him off the roof, due to which Ganesh died instantly. The police broke all the CCTV cameras in the vicinity so that no evidence could be found! The family gave an application to register an FIR against the guilty police personnel, but even after ten days, the FIR was not registered, due to which the post-mortem of the deceased Ganesh could not be done, due to which the saddened family is sitting on a dharna in Hisar. There is anger in the Balmiki community of the whole country against this kind of brutality of the Hisar administration. If action is not taken against the culprits, then we will be forced to protest in the whole country. Among those who gave the memorandum were Sunil Kumar President, Pradeep Balmiki, Advocate Kamal Kumar, Pramod Balmiki, Sunil Rajdan, Rajesh Bhartiya, Aniket Sunil Balmiki, Suresh Bakshi, Amarnath Balmiki, Amit Nagvanshi, Rakesh Painter, Ramprakash Bhartiya, Gaurav Kumar, Rajjan Kumar, Ramesh, Laalta Prasad, Sushil, Sunny etc.
