Rain disaster: 40 people rescued in Kedarnath, 62 dead, 56 missing in Himachal Pradesh due to landslide

40 pilgrims returning from Kedarnath Dham in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand were trapped in the Sonprayag slide zone. They have been rescued. Due to heavy rain, a sudden landslide occurred in the slide zone near Sonprayag. Due to which 40 pilgrims were trapped. As soon as the information about the accident was received, the deployed SDRF personnel reached the spot. The SDRF team made a safe route to the pilgrims and successfully took them out of the slide zone. All the pilgrims were trapped in the slide zone at 1 am late at night. Last Sunday, the Chardham Yatra was stopped for a day due to heavy rain and landslide fears. Precautionary measures were taken for the safety of the people. Later, the yatra resumed on Monday. In which landslides occurred at various places due to heavy rain yesterday. While 29 people are missing. Five people have lost their lives in Thunag, one in Karsog and seven in Gauhar. Apart from this, two bodies have been found from Syanj in Jogindranagar.
