Heavy rains lashed many places in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. This has caused heavy damage in Shimla, Solan and Mandi. Road, rail and air services have also been affected due to heavy rains. Due to the impact of these services, people had to face difficulties for hours. On Saturday night, a mother and daughter were trapped in the attic of their house in Jolly Booth Well in Shimla. They were pulled out after two and a half hours. Four vehicles were damaged after a tree fell in Panthghati. At the same time, the Chandigarh-Shimla four-lane highway was closed due to debris near Chakki Mor at 7 am on Sunday. After some time, one lane was restored and it was fully restored at 1:45 pm. A culvert was washed away near Kiratpur on the Barotiwala to Bagguwala road and Pinjore-Nalagarh National Highway. Due to the slow pace of water drainage at Padchu in Dharampur of Mandi district, the lake has stagnated again. Families have evacuated their homes after fearing collapse of five houses in Sanyard ward of Mandi city. In Naini Khad area of Chamba, Pathankot-Chamba-Bharmour highway remained closed for about five and a half hours. Two kilometers away from Naini Khad, at a bend in front of Kali Mata temple, tons of mud from the drain came onto the National Highway. The truck got stuck in the debris. Due to this, the route remained closed till 2.30 am. Five houses, three cow sheds and a shop have been damaged due to rain in the state. 129 roads in the state are closed due to landslides. 57 in Sirmaur, 44 in Mandi, 19 in Kullu, four in Una and one in Lahaul Spiti. Apart from this, some other roads are also blocked. Power supply has been disrupted due to failure of 612 transformers in the state. 340 in Mandi, 140 in Lahaul Spiti, 92 in Solan, 33 in Hamirpur and seven in Kullu are faulty.
