The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have opposed the Saudi Arabia T20 League. Both the countries have joined hands to prevent the Saudi T20 League from happening. According to the report, the Saudi Arabia Cricket Foundation wants to start a Saudi T20 League like the Indian Premier League, in which it will invest 400 million dollars (about 3442 crore rupees). India-England oppose Saudi T20 League The BCCI and ECB, which are opposing the Saudi T20 League, will not allow their players to play in the new tournament. Both the countries will also recommend the International Cricket Council (ICC) to stop the Saudi league. The BCCI and the ECB have asked the ICC to stop the league due to the busy cricket schedule. Both the countries say that the league will affect their schedule. BCCI and ECB will not allow their players to play According to media reports, BCCI and ECB have united to oppose the Saudi T20 League during the World Test Championship (WTC) final. Both countries have decided that they will not give NOC to include their players in the new tournament, due to which Saudi’s program will be weakened. They have also shown interest in participating in the new tournament. According to a PTI report, Saudi Arabia’s SRJ Sports Investment has promised Australia to invest 400 million dollars for the new tournament. According to the plan, the new tournament will have a total of 8 teams and four tournaments will be played at different venues every year. Saudi held talks with ICC According to Australian daily The Age, the eight-team tennis-inspired league wants to organize a T20 league at four different venues this year. Saudi Arabia’s SRJ Sports Investments has already started discussions with the International Cricket Council (ICC) with a capital investment of one lakh crore dollars. Australian player prepared the plan Former Australian cricketer and manager of Australia captain Pat Cummins, Anu Neil Maxwell, prepared a plan on this concept last year. He is also a former member of the Australian Cricket Association and Cricket New South Wales. The report further said that several investors are ready to support the league, of which Saudi Arabia is the biggest, which is ready to spend 500 million dollars for it.
