Mirzapur. There was a stir in Piuri village of Santnagar police station area in the district when the villagers saw not one but two crocodiles roaming in the fields. On receiving information about the crocodile, the team of Sirsi forest range reached the spot. The caught crocodile was rescued and left safely in Sirsi dam. At the same time, the forest department was engaged in the search for the second crocodile with the help of the villagers.
Let us tell you that the activity of crocodiles has been increasing continuously in the district for the last few days. Every day, incidents of crocodiles being seen somewhere or the other are coming to the fore. Due to the rising water level of the river and reservoirs, crocodiles are now reaching the fields near the villages.
Apart from Piuri, giant crocodiles have also been seen in Kakrad village. Due to the alertness of the villagers and the promptness of the forest department, no loss of life or property has been reported so far, but an atmosphere of fear still persists.
