Sanjay Kushwaha, who is leading this group, said that these Kanwariyas will walk on foot from Sultanganj and perform Jalabhishek of Baba Baijnath. There is a mythological belief that the heart of Mata Sati had fallen here after being cut, hence it is also called Hriday Peeth. It is also believed that when the devotees of Baba Bhole bring Kanwar to Baba Baijnath temple in Sawan, they get the blessings of both Shiva and Shakti. Therefore, the Dham of Dwadash Jyotirling Baba Baijnath is also called Shakti Peeth.
