The cowshed located in Benipur village of Sikandra area has become a victim of poor condition and administrative apathy. Four cows have died due to heavy dirt and disorder spread in the cowshed. Insects are falling in them and bees are making their nests. The dead bodies of the cows are rotting in the cowshed premises itself, due to which there is a danger of spreading foul smell and infection. The surprising thing is that despite the information given by the caretaker of the cowshed, no responsible officer reached the spot. According to the information received, about 95 cows are registered in the cowshed, who are not getting proper fodder and care. The condition of malnutrition is such that the bones of many cows are clearly visible. Caretaker Ashok Sharma posted in the cowshed said that information was given several times to the village head and other responsible people, but no action was taken. When the local villagers came to know about this plight, they reached the spot and expressed strong resentment against the administration. The villagers said that this is not a Gaushala but has become a hell, where even the living cattle are on the verge of dying in agony. When the VDO of Sandalpur block area Hari Govind Gupta was contacted on phone in this regard, he said that he is on leave and is currently out, but he has received information about the matter. He said that the concerned officer of the department has been sent to the spot and instructions have been given to improve the arrangements soon.
