Varanasi: Thieves broke into the closed house of former veterinary officer Dr Aditya Narayan Upadhyay, who had built a house 25 years ago in Narayanpur area, by cutting the grill of the window at the back and searched the briefcases and cupboards kept in the room. They broke three briefcases in the room and took away the stuff kept in them. After stealing from here, they tried to cut the grill of the window at the back of the house of former Vice Chancellor of Kashi Hindu University, Punjab Singh, but were unsuccessful. Sanjay, a tenant living on the second floor of Aditya Narayan Upadhyay’s house, came to know about the theft and immediately informed the police and the landlord. Aditya Narayan had gone to his daughter’s house in Sikkim with his wife for the last four months. His two sons both live in America. After Aditya Narayan’s arrival, the information about the stuff stolen from the house will be known. In the CCTV footage from nearby areas, 5 to 6 thieves are seen roaming around. The police is looking for them with the help of CCTV footage. While a police picket is set up at Karmanveerpur intersection, 100 meters away from the crime scene. On the other side, a police picket is also set up at Narayanpur intersection.
