Citizens of the country will no longer have to wait for months to get their voter ID card or change it. Citizens of the country will not have to wait long to get their voter ID card or even have to go to the offices, because the Election Commission (EC) has taken an important initiative regarding the voter ID card. The Election Commission has completely changed the process of voter ID card. According to the new rules of the ED, now citizens will get a new or changed voter ID card in just 15 days. The Election Commission has clearly said that after completing the application process, the card will be handed over to the voter within 15 working days. Earlier, it was necessary to wait from weeks to months to get a new or changed voter ID card, however, under the new system, the data verification, card printing and delivery process have been time-bound. This new system is not only applicable for new voter ID cards, but also for voters who want to change their name, address, photo or age in the card. The Election Commission has termed this decision as an initiative to increase democratic participation. The Commission has said that the delivery of voter identity cards in both digital and physical formats has been made trackable. Soon, a separate desk will be set up in each district for this.
