The X-ray machine in the 100-bed joint hospital of Auraiya has been out of order for the past four days, due to which patients have to resort to private centres. On Tuesday, many patients including Madhu, Manju Devi, Ravi, Mukesh, Reena and Suresh came to get X-rays done for hand-leg injuries and fractures, but the hospital staff turned them away citing the machine being out of order. Patients coming from far-flung areas like Achalda, Phaphund, Bidhuna and Dibiyapur are also not getting treatment. According to local sources, for the past four days, about 36 patients are reaching the hospital every day for X-rays, but they are facing disappointment due to the machine being out of order.
